The main function of the Industrial Mathematics Knowledge Transfer Network is to identify and develop collaborative projects through two broad strategic activities:

• Programme Delivery is focussed on providing the KTN's community with rapid benefit, through mechanisms that increase the speed and volume of knowledge exchange. A particular priority is to expand vigorously the KTN's Industrial Mathematics KTP Programme (postgraduate internships).
• Partnership Engagements create strategic collaborations between the KTN, the Technology Strategy Board's other programmes, the Research Councils, and Government Departments.
